NAME
       dn6d - Trusted IP server

SYNOPSIS
       dn6d [-dp] [-c config-file] [-r input-file] [-w output-file]

DESCRIPTION
The Trusted IP server program (daemon) dn6d manages security
attributes for network sessions. This daemon is automatically
started by the DG/UX initialization mechanism when you boot a kernel
configured with Trusted IP (i.e. with the dn6 device).

If this server is ever inadvertently terminated, no new Trusted IP
sessions can be established. In that case, the network administrator
may restart the server. Attempts to start a second server will fail
because the system allows only one server to be active at any one
       time.

Dn6d writes a log of its activity to stdout which should be
redirected to /etc/tcb/dn6d/dn6d.log. The amount of output generated
is determined by the value of the log-level parameter in the
       configuration file; see dn6d.config(4M).

The configuration file can be modified and the Trusted IP daemon can
be made to re-read the modified configuration file by sending dn6d a
       hangup signal, SIGHUP.

   Options
-c Specifies the path name of the configuration file to use. The
              default is /etc/tcb/dn6/dn6d.config.

-d Specifies debug mode in which dn6d does not become a
background process or disassociate itself from the controlling
              tty.

-p Specifies that the configuration file will be parsed for
syntax errors and then dn6d will exit.

-r Specifies that dn6d will read input from input-file instead of
              from the /dev/dn6 device.

-w Specifies that each message read from the /dev/dn6 device will
              also be written to output-file.

NOTES
The log-level parameter in the file /etc/tcb/dn6/dn6d.config
specifies the amount of logging information dn6d provides. See the
dn6d.config(4M) manual page for more information.
