NAME
       info - documentation browser

SYNOPSIS
       info [menu-selection [-o output-file]]

DESCRIPTION
The info command invokes a menu-driven system for reading
documentation contained in .info files. Such files are typically
provided for tools in the GNU family of software.

Invoked without argument, info displays a menu of topics available in
the system. From this display you can move on to browse any of the
listed topics, or you can invoke an on-line help system and tutorial.

An optional menu-selection consists of one or more menu items that
lead to a node in the info system: for example, the command info
item1 item2... has the same effect as invoking info and then
selecting item1 from the first menu displayed, item2 from the next
       menu, and so forth.

If you specify an output-file using the -o option, info will print
the specified menu-selection to the file. You may also produce such
a file from within the browsing system, using info's print command.

FILES
       /usr/opt/gnu/info directory containing info documentation
                                sources
       /usr/opt/gnu/info/dir top-level info directory node
