NAME
xdt3 -- start X.desktop, an X Window System desktop
manager
SYNOPSIS
xdt3 [ -display displayname ] [ -xrm resource string ] [
programname [ program arguments ] ]
DESCRIPTION
The xdt3 command starts IXI X.desktop, a desktop manager
for the X Window System. To execute this, your X server
must already be running.
OPTIONS
-display displayname
Allows you to specify the X Window display name
that X.desktop should display to.
-xrm resourcestring
This option specifies a resource string to be used.
This is especially useful for setting X.dekstop
resources that do not have separate command line
options.
EXAMPLES
xdt3 -display bullwinkle:0.0 &
This will start X.desktop in the background, displaying to
the X Window display named bullwinkle:0.0.
xdt3 -xrm "*desktop.enableStatusBar: False" &
This will start X.desktop in the background with the sta-
tus bar disabled.
xdt3 tellxdt3 displaydirectory /tmp
This will start X.desktop, invoking the tellxdt3 program
with arguments directing it to display the directory /tmp.
