dgsstrerr(1M) DG/UX 5.4.2 dgsstrerr(1M)
NAME
dgsstrerr - Data General streams interface daemon
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/dgsstrerr
DESCRIPTION
The dgsstrerr daemon processes information it receives from
the /dev/log pseudo-device. It packetizes the information,
and sends it the dgsvcd daemon to be called out.
The dgsstrerr daemon should be used instead of the strerr
and strace daemons.
EXAMPLES
The following error was received by the /dev/log pseudo-
device, sent to the dgsstrerr daemon, and written to
/var/adm/dgsvcmgr/dgsvcdlog:
(11-7-91 9:0:2) (dgsstrerr) Error : message
This message indicates that a STREAMS driver or module sent
the message "message" to the /dev/log daemon.

from STREAMS drivers or modules.
/var/adm/dgsvcmgr/dgsvcdlog

DIAGNOSTICS
dgsstrerr exits if 1) it can't initiate a process to run in
2) another process has the /dev/log interface open, or 3) it
can't connect via a socket to dgsvcd.
