NAME
xwait - Wait for the server to open connection to a
specified display or by default to the one defined in the
DISPLAY environment variable and then exit.
SYNOPSIS
xwait [-display DisplayName] [-timeout Seconds]
DESCRIPTION
The xwait program waits for the server to open connection to
a specified display or by default to the one defined in the
DISPLAY environment variable within a specified time or by
default will try indefinately to get connected and then
exit.
OPTIONS
Xwait accepts the following command line options:
-display DisplayName
This option allows the server to open connection to
a specified display and then exit. By default xwait
will wait for the server to open connection for the
display defined in the DISPLAY environment variable
and then exit.
-timeout Seconds
This option allows the server to open connection to
a display within the specified number of seconds. By
default # of seconds is infinity.

xwait

xwait -display unix:0.0 -timeout 30
$STATUS
xwait program will return the error ETIMEDOUT if the server
was not able to open connection to a specified display
within a given time. xwait program will return 1 if the
arguments were specified incorrectly.
