     plm(7) DG/UX 4.30 plm(7)

     NAME
plm - pseudo lock manager device interface

     DESCRIPTION
This character special device provides a communications path
between the operating system kernel and the lockd(8c)
network daemon. The special file /dev/plm is open-ed(2) by
lockd(8c), and serves as a point for passing record lock
requests and replies out of and into the operating system
kernel. Lockd(8c) is the only program that should ever
access plm. In order for remote record locking services to
be provided, the pseudo device driver entry plm() must be
listed in the system(4) file before configuring the system.

     FILES
/dev/plm Special file for remote record locking service.
