     NAME
          creat - Create a new file or rewrite an existing one.

     SYNOPSIS

          int   creat  (path, mode)
          char *          path;
          int             mode;

     PARAMETERS
          path           Address of a pathname.

          mode           Protection mode of the new file.

     DESCRIPTION
          Creat(2) is equivalent to:

              open(path, O_WRONLY | O_CREAT | O_TRUNC, mode).

     ACCESS CONTROL
          Same as for the open system call.

     RETURN VALUE
          See open(2).
