UCX NFS (UCP) CONVERT — VMS UCX_1.3
Specifies that a conversion is to be performed between an Ultrix formatted file and a UCX database. This conversion can be performed in both directions for the HOST and NETWORK databases; however, the conversion is limited to Ultrix formatted file to UCX database for the PROXY database. The CONVERT command must be used in conjunction with the /ULTRIX or /VMS qualifiers and these qualifier must immediately succeed CONVERT. There is no default for /ULTRIX or /VMS. Format: CONVERT/VMS Database_type or CONVERT/ULTRIX Database_type

Converts a UCX database to an Ultrix formatted file.

HOST
Converts a UCX$HOST database file to an Ultrix formatted
/etc/hosts file (held on the VMS system).
There is an optional parameter to the CONVERT/ULTRIX HOST
command which specifies the name of the Ultrix formatted
/etc/hosts file. The default is []ETC.HOSTS.
The UCX$HOST file name is defined in the logical name UCX$HOST.
Format:
CONVERT/ULTRIX HOST [file_name]
Additional information available:
/BYADDRESS
Specifies that an Ultrix formatted /etc/hosts file will be
created with records sorted by internet address.
If this qualifier is not specified, the file will be created
with records sorted by host name
Format:
CONVERT/ULTRIX HOST [file_name] /BYADDRESS
/LOG
Specifies that records will be displayed to SYS$OUTPUT as
they are being processed.
The default is that records will not be displayed.
Format:
CONVERT/ULTRIX HOST [file_name] /[NO]LOG
/YP_FORMAT
Specifies that the Ultrix formatted host database should be
created in Yellow Pages format.
Format:
CONVERT/ULTRIX HOST [file_name] /[NO]YP
NETWORK
Converts an Ultrix formatted /etc/networks file (held on the
VMS system) to a UCX$NETWORK database.
There is an optional parameter to the CONVERT/ULTRIX NETWORK
command which specifies the name of the Ultrix formatted
/etc/networks file. The default is []ETC.NETWORKS.
The UCX$NETWORK file name is defined in the logical name
UCX$NETWORK.
Format:
CONVERT/ULTRIX NETWORK [file_name]
Additional information available:
/BYADDRESS
Specifies that an Ultrix formatted /etc/networks file will be
created with records sorted by internet address.
If this qualifier is not specified, the file will be created with
records sorted by network name

CONVERT/ULTRIX NETWORK [file_name] /BYADDRESS
/LOG
Specifies that records will be displayed to SYS$OUTPUT as they
are being processed.
The default is that records will not be displayed.

Specifies that the Ultrix formatted network database should be
created in Yellow Pages format.

/VMS
Converts an Ultrix formatted file to a UCX database. If the UCX database already contains records, the conversion will cause new information to be appended.
