Services for PCs Manager SHOW — VMS PCSA_Server_2.1

   The SHOW command  and  its  options  is  used  to  display  various
   information  on  the operation of both the Disk Server and the File
   Server.  It may also be used to display the version numbers of  the
   Disk Server, File Server and PCSA_MANAGER.

DISK_SERVER

   The SHOW DISK_SERVER command is used to display various information
   on  the  operation  of  the  Disk  Server.   The  information to be
   displayed is selected from the list below:

CHARACTERISTICS

   The SHOW DISK_SERVER CHARACTERISTICS command displays  the  current
   characteristics  of  the  Disk  Server.   The  display includes the
   current LAD$KERNEL request timeout value in  seconds,  and  whether
   non-privileged  users  may or may not perform PCSA_MANAGER commands
   which affect virtual disk services.

   Format:

     SHOW DISK_SERVER CHARACTERISTICS

CONNECTIONS

   The SHOW  DISK_SERVER  CONNECTIONS  command  displays  the  current
   connection  information  for the Disk Server.  The display includes
   on a per client basis, the  client  name,  the  service  name,  the
   access  mode of the service, and the name of the container file for
   the service.

   Format:

 /CLIENT=node-name

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  client.   node-name  is the 1 to 6 character DECnet node
   name of the client workstation.

 /SERVICE=service-name

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  service.   service-name is the 1 to 25 character name of
   the service.

COUNTERS

   The SHOW DISK_SERVER COUNTERS command and its options  is  used  to
   display  the  various  Disk Server counter statistics.  The type of
   counters to be displayed are selected by the following  qualifiers.
   If no qualifier is specified, then all counters are displayed.

   The SHOW DISK_SERVER COUNTERS/CACHE command is used to display  the
   current  Disk  Server  cache  counters.   The  display includes the
   current cache size in pages, the number of cache hits  (the  number
   of  blocks  not  read  due  to  the  cache),  the  cache  hit  rate
   percentage, the number of read requests, the number of blocks read,
   the number of write requests and the number of blocks written.

   Format:

     SHOW DISK_SERVER COUNTERS/CACHE

/CLIENT

 /CLIENT[=node-name]

   The SHOW DISK_SERVER COUNTERS/CLIENT command is used to display the
   current  Disk  Server  client counters.  The display may be for all
   clients and all services, or may  be  qualified  by  client  and/or
   service.  node-name is the 1 to 6 character DECnet node name of the
   client workstation.  If node-name is omitted, then the counters for
   all connected clients are displayed.  The display includes on a per
   service basis, the service name, the client  name,  the  number  of
   read requests to the service and the number of blocks read, and the
   number of write requests to the service and the  number  of  blocks
   written.

   Format:

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  service.   service-name is the 1 to 25 character name of
   the service.

 /SERVICE[=service-name]

   The SHOW DISK_SERVER COUNTERS/SERVICE command is  used  to  display
   the  current  Disk Server service counters.  The display may be for
   all services or for a specific service.  service-name is the  1  to
   25 character name of the service.  If service-name is omitted, then
   the counters for all mounted services are displayed.   The  display
   includes  on  a  per service basis, the service name, the number of
   read requests to the service and the number of blocks read, and the
   number  of  write  requests to the service and the number of blocks
   written.

   Format:

     SHOW DISK_SERVER COUNTERS/SERVICE[=service-name]

SERVICES

   The SHOW DISK_SERVER  SERVICES  command  will  display  information
   about  mounted  Disk  Server  services.  The display may be for all
   services on all nodes in a cluster, or qualified by service  and/or
   cluster  node  name.   The display includes on a per service basis,
   the service name, the service  type,  the  server  node  name,  the
   connection  limit to the service, the current number of user of the
   service, the access  mode  allowed  to  the  service,  the  service
   rating, and the status of the service.  Additionally, the container
   filespecification of the service may also be displayed.

   Format:

/CLUSTER/FULL/SERVICE/TYPE

 /CLUSTER [ = (node,...)]

   This qualifier will restrict the display of information to services
   offered  on  the  specified nodes in a cluster.  node is the 1 to 6
   character DECnet node name of a node to be displayed.  If no  nodes
   are  specified,  then information for all nodes in the cluster will
   be displayed.  If /CLUSTER is omitted, then only  services  offered
   on the current node are displayed.

/FULL

 /NOFULL (default)

   This qualifier will cause the container file specification  of  the
   service to be included in the display.

/SERVICE
 /SERVICE=service-name

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  service.   service-name is the 1 to 25 character name of
   the service to be displayed.

/TYPE
 /TYPE=(class[,...])

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  service  types.   If  omitted,  then  all  services  are
   displayed.  class is one or more of the following service types:

   [NO]ALL                      [Don't] display all services
   [NO]APPLICATION              [Don't] display application services
   [NO]BOOT [:client-name]      [Don't] display boot services
                                [for client client-name]
   [NO]SYSTEM                   [Don't] display system services
   [NO]USER                     [Don't] display user services

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER command is used to display various information
   on  the  operation  of  the  File  Server.   The  information to be
   displayed is selected from the list below:

CHARACTERISTICS

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER CHARACTERISTICS command displays  the  current
   characteristics  of  the  File  Server.   The  display includes the
   current limits on the number of  DECnet  sessions,  the  number  of
   connections, the number of connections for each session, the number
   of open files, and the number of open files for each session.   The
   display  also includes the default account used to make connections
   when no access information is passed on a client connection.

   Format:

     SHOW FILE_SERVER CHARACTERISTICS

CONNECTIONS

   The SHOW  FILE_SERVER  CONNECTIONS  command  displays  the  current
   connection  information  for the File Server.  The display includes
   on a per connection basis, the connection ID, the client node name,
   the user name used in making the connection, the service alias name
   used to make the connection, the name of the service connected  to,
   and  the  access  allowed  to  the service.  Additionally, the root
   directory specification for the service  may  be  included  in  the
   display.

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  client.   node-name  is the 1 to 6 character DECnet node

   This qualifier will cause the root directory specification for each
   service to be included in the display.

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the

OPEN_FILES

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER OPEN_FILES command  displays  a  list  of  all
   files  that  are  currently  open  by the File Server.  The display
   includes on a per file basis, the file ID, the client name that has
   the  file  open,  the file name, the size of the file in bytes, and
   the number of locks on the file.

   Format:

 /CLIENT=node-name

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  client.   node-name  is the 1 to 6 character DECnet node
   name of the client workstation.

SERVICES

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER  SERVICES  command  will  display  information
   about  File  Server  services.   The  type  of  information  to  be
   displayed is selected by the following qualifiers.  If no qualifier
   is specified, then /ACTIVE is the default.

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER SERVICES/ACTIVE command is used to display the
   currently  active  File Server services.  The information displayed
   may be for all active services, or  for  a  specific  service.   An
   active  service is one to which File Server connections exist.  The
   display includes on a per service  basis,  the  service  name,  the
   service  type,  the  RMS attributes of the service, the file length
   mode of the service, the connection limit to the  service  and  the
   current number of users of the service.

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  service.   service-name is the 1 to 25 character name of
   the service.

/TYPE
 /TYPE=(class[,...])

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  service  types.   If  omitted,  then  all  services  are
   displayed.  class is one or more of the following service types:

   [NO]ALL                      [Don't] display all services
   [NO]APPLICATION              [Don't] display application services
   [NO]COMMON                   [Don't] display common services
   [NO]PRINTER                  [Don't] display printer services
   [NO]SYSTEM                   [Don't] display system services

/AUTHORIZED

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER SERVICES/AUTHORIZED command is used to display
   information  about authorized users of File Server services.  Users
   are authorized for services via the GRANT command.  The information
   displayed  may  be  for  all services, or a specific user, alias or
   service, and is obtained from the File Server Access Control  File.
   The display includes on a per user or group name basis, the user or
   group name, the alias  name  for  the  service,  the  name  of  the
   service,  the  access  granted  to  the service and the default RMS
   protection  mask  for  files  created  under  the  service.   Names
   displayed  between angle brackets (<>), are group names rather than
   user names.

   Format:

     SHOW FILE_SERVER SERVICES/AUTHORIZED

/ALIAS/GROUP/SERVICE/USERNAME

 /ALIAS=alias-name

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  alias  name.   alias-name is the 1 to 25 character alias
   name by which the service is known.

/GROUP
 /GROUP=group-name

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  group name.  group-name is the 1 to 10 character name of
   the group.  The only valid group name is  PUBLIC.   This  qualifier
   may not be used with /USERNAME.

/SERVICE
 /SERVICE=service-name

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  service.   service-name is the 1 to 25 character name of
   the service.

/USERNAME
 /USERNAME=user-name

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  user-name.   user-name  is the 1 to 12 character name of
   the user.  The qualifier may not be used with /GROUP.

/REGISTERED

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER SERVICES/REGISTERED command is used to display
   information  about  registered  File Server services.  Services are
   registered via the ADD SERVICE command.  The information  displayed
   may  be  for  all  services,  or  may  be qualified by service type
   (directory or printer) and/or service name, and  is  obtained  from
   the  File  Server Access Control File.  For directory services, the
   display includes on a per service basis, the service name, the root
   directory   specification   for   the  service,  the  service  type
   (application, common or system), the RMS attributes of the service,
   the file length mode of the service and the connection limit to the
   service.  For printer services,  the  display  includes  on  a  per
   service  basis, the service name, the spool directory specification
   for the service, the queue name the files are spooled to, the  form
   named  used for printing the files, and the connection limit to the
   service.  Additionally, the default RMS protection mask  used  when
   users  are  granted  access to the service may be included for both
   directory and printer services.

   This  qualifier  will  restrict  the  display  of  information   to
   directory services.

   service to be included in the display.

SESSIONS

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER SESSIONS command displays a list of all DECnet
   sessions  currently  active  with the File Server.  The information
   displayed may be  for  all  sessions,  or  for  a  specific  client
   workstation.   The  display  includes  on  a per session basis, the
   session ID, the client node name, the number of connections held by
   the  client,  and  the  number  of  files  open  by the client.  In
   summary, the total number of sessions, connections and  open  files
   are displayed.

   This qualifier will restrict the  display  of  information  to  the
   specified  client.   node-name  is the 1 to 6 character DECnet node
   name of the client workstation.

STATUS

   The SHOW FILE_SERVER STATUS command displays information about  the
   current  status  of  the File Server.  The display includes whether
   the File Server is accepting connections, whether the  File  Server
   will  accept  connections  from unregistered users, the current log
   file specification, and the current logging events.

   Format:

     SHOW FILE_SERVER STATUS

VERSION

   The SHOW VERSION command will display the current software  version
   numbers of LAD$KERNEL, LADDRIVER, PCFS_SERVER and PCSA_MANAGER.
