DECnet NCP SHOW — VMS DECNet_SNA_Gateway_2.0

Use the SNANCP SHOW commands to display the following information
about the Gateway components:

o SUMMARY - brief information about the component.

o STATUS - dynamic information about the component, such as the
         current state.

o CHARACTERISTICS - static information about the component,
         such as parameter values.

o COUNTERS - operational counters for the component.

o LOGGING - information about Gateway event logging.

For some components, in place of a specific component-id, you can
specify KNOWN for information on all the components defined, or ACTIVE
for information on all active components.

Specify 'TO file-spec' if you want to file the SHOW information
instead of displaying it on your terminal.

Circuit statesExample

CHARACTERISTICS

Displays information about the parameters that have been set for the
circuit.

COUNTERS

Displays information about circuit counters.

STATUS

Displays status information about the circuits. This may be merely
the circuit-id and state, or it may include additional information.

SUMMARY

Circuit states

A circuit can be in any of the following states:

Off the circuit has not been set on

On-starting the circuit has been set on and the Gateway
is waiting for the IBM host to establish
                     communications

On the IBM host is communicating with the Gateway

On-timed out the Gateway has lost communication with the IBM host
because of a poll timeout (SDLC circuits only)

On-disconnected the IBM host has ended the communication with
                     the Gateway

On-IBM loopback the IBM host is doing modem loopback tests -
the state of the circuit will return to 'on'
when the loopback tests have been completed.
                     (SDLC circuits only).

A circuit is ACTIVE when it is in any of the 'on' states.

     1. SNANCP> SHOW CIRCUIT SDLC-3

This command provides a summary display of circuit
information for the synchronous link named SDLC-3.

LU states

An LU can be in any one of the following states. However, the states
that you will usually see are active, active-in-session, and inactive.

inactive this Gateway LU does not have an active
                                session with an SSCP

inactive-listening same as inactive except that a server is
connected and listening on the LU (it is
                                listening for a BIND)

pending-active the Gateway is the process of setting up
                                the LU-SSCP session

pending-active-listening same as pending-active except that a
server is connected and listening on
the LU (it is listening for a BIND)

active there is an LU-SSCP session active

active-listening same as active except that a server is
connected and listening on the LU (it is
                                listening for a BIND)

active-bind-requested an LU-SSCP session is active and a server
has requested an LU-LU session with an
IBM application. No BIND message has been
                                received.

active-bind-in-progress a LU-LU session with an IBM application
has been requested, and a BIND from the
                                IBM application is being processed

active-in-session an LU-LU session is active, and a server
is connected. For example, a DECnet/SNA
Gateway TE user might be using a CICS
                                application on the IBM host.

active-unbind-requested an LU-LU session is active. A server has
requested the SSCP to end the LU-LU
session with an IBM application. No
                                UNBIND message has been received.

active-unbind-in-progress an LU-LU session with an IBM application
is still active. An UNBIND message has
been received and is being processed.

pending-inactive the LU-SSCP session is in the process
                                of being terminated

pending-inactive-listening same as pending-inactive except
that there is a server listening
                                on the LU
