finddbs(8sql)
Name
finddbs − recover ULTRIX/SQL when iidbdb is corrupted, or when an entry for a user-defined database is missing.
Syntax
finddbs
Description
The finddbs command is used to recover ULTRIX/SQL when the system database (iidbdb) has been corrupted. Only the ULTRIX/SQL system administrator can use finddbs.
By default, finddbs searches the directory $II_DATABASE/ingres/data/default to locate databases that should be included in the iidatabase table of iidbdb. The utility prompts you to enter the names of additional directories that it should search for databases. See the ULTRIX/SQL Operations Guide for more information about finddbs.
Options
−aRun finddbs in analyze mode (the default), informing you of possible errors in the iidatabase table of iidbdb.
−rRun finddbs in replace mode, rebuilding the iidatabase table by scanning a list of directories for databases.
−pMake all databases located in replace mode to be made private, except for the iidbdb. By default, replace mode makes all databases public (accessible to all ULTRIX/SQL users).
