ddusetup(8) — Maintenance
NAME
ddusetup − Diskless Driver for Tru64 UNIX (DDU) setup utility
SYNOPSIS
/usr/sbin/ddusetup
DESCRIPTION
Diskless Driver for Tru64 UNIX (DDU) provides a way for Tru64 UNIX to page to a plain file. Normally, Tru64 UNIX must page to a block-mode device file. DDU provides a block-mode device that writes to a plain file. The plain file can be located on a remote node accessed via the network file system (NFS). Thus, using DDU in conjunction with Dataless Management Services (DMS) makes possible a Tru64 UNIX system that has no local disks.
The ddusetup command provides an interactive, menu-driven facility for administrating remote pagefiles.
Use the ddusetup utility to perform the following tasks:
•Enable the Diskless Driver subsystem
You must execute this option before choosing any of the other options.
•Disable the Diskless Driver subsystem
Choose this option to disable the use of DDU. If remote pagefiles are in use, DDU continues to operate until the next reboot.
•Configure paging files
Choose this option to select and create pagefiles.
•Start Diskless Driver
Choose this option to invoke the DDU boot-time startup script.
To run ddusetup, log in as superuser and enter the following command: /usr/sbin/ddusetup
The DDU configuration data is stored in /etc/sysconfigtab.
