NAME
hosts.id − POLYCENTER Security Intrusion Detector (ID) host name file
DESCRIPTION
The ID hosts.id file contains information about the ID machines on your TCP/IP network.
The ID manager interface uses this file to identify the hosts which are running the ID intrusion detection daemon, id_mond.
The format of hosts.id is equivalent to the format of the OSF/1 /etc/hosts file where each single-line entry contains the following information:
internet-address official-host-name alias

Write access to hosts.id is restricted to members of the idadm group.
