SPELL
Runs DECspell (if installed on your system) to check the spelling in a
selection or in the entire buffer.
Steps:
1. Optionally, select the text you want to check.
2. Use SPELL (or with the WPS keypad, press GOLD-S).
3. Use DECspell commands to correct your text. After you make the
corrections, exiting from DECspell resumes the editing session.
Usage notes:
o SPELL spawns a subprocess to run DECspell and writes out the selection
or the current buffer to a temporary file in SYS$SCRATCH (which is
usually your top-level, login directory).
o Exiting from DECspell replaces the selection or buffer with the new
version of the temporary file, containing any corrections, and then
deletes the temporary file.
o If you select less than a full line, SPELL extends the select range to
include the start and end of the line. If you do NOT select any text,
SPELL checks the entire buffer.
o You cannot use SPELL with the DECwindows interface.
o Do NOT use CTRL/Y while using SPELL. This deletes lines in the
temporary file and destroys the current buffer or selection.
