SELECT ALL
Selects all of the current buffer---regardless of your position---so you
can perform an editing operation.
Steps:
1. Use SELECT ALL or on DECwindows, click MB1 five times. The entire
buffer is highlighted in reverse video. The cursor position does
not change.
2. You can then edit the selection by using a command or key that
works on a select range, such as COPY, FILL, REMOVE, or UPPERCASE.
See help on Ranges And Boxes.
Usage notes:
o To cancel the selection, do any of the following:
* Use RESET (for example, press GOLD-SELECT).
* Repeat SELECT or BOX SELECT (for example, press the SELECT key).
* Click MB1 once (which also repositions the cursor).
o If you use SELECT ALL or click MB1 five times, you cannot use the
following:
Pending delete
BOX COPY
BOX CUT
FIND SELECTED
OPEN SELECTED
o On DECwindows, if you select text, the pop-up menu (displayed by
holding down MB2) contains COPY, CUT, FILL RANGE, case changes, and
other commands for editing a selection.
