=TITLE printing The print dialog box consists of various options to be selected when printing a file. The main dialog box has file-specific options. When the "Options..." push- button is selected, a secondary dialog box is displayed containing the remaining printer options. The default printer is SYS$PRINT. If SYS$PRINT is not defined, the default printer is first printer displayed in the list box. "Default" shown in an option menu means that the default for this option will be the default for the print queue when it was defined. More specific help information can be displayed by requesting help on one of the options or by selecting the appropriate option from the help widget below.

print after
=TITLE print_after
The Start After Time field allows you to enter a time
and date when this print job first becomes eligible to
be scheduled for printing. It is most frequently used
to defer the printing of large jobs until after hours.
If this field is not altered, the job becomes eligible
for print scheduling immediately.
For this release the only time and date syntax accepted
is the VMS date/time syntax, consisting of:
dd-mmm-yyyy hh:mm
dd 1 or 2 digit day of month
mmm 3-character month abbreviation
yyyy 4 character year specification
hh 2-digit hour of day (2400 hour clock)
mm 2-digit minute of hour
For example, 23-JUN-1988 17:30
delete file
=TITLE delete_file The Delete toggle button controls the disposition of the print file after the printing operation is completed. If this togglebutton is turned on, the print file will be automatically deleted when printing is done. Its normal state is off.
primary ok
=TITLE primary_ok Pressing the OK button allows you to signal that you have completed entering or modifying fields on the screen and you want to proceed with the actual printing.
primary cancel
=TITLE primary_cancel Pressing the CANCEL button allows you to abandon the printing operation. No printing will be done.

=TITLE set_options Pressing the Options... button allows you to proceed to a secondary form on which are additional options controlling the printing operation. Most of the options on the secondary form are defaulted to appropriate settings and you should seldom have to go to the secondary form. Some reasons why you may want to go to the secondary form include: If you are sending output to an LPS40 you may want to control tray selection. If you are printing in landscape mode, you will need to select the appropriate form from the Print Forms listbox.
