LATCP SHOW — VMS 5.4
Allows you to look at service node characteristics and counter
information.
Format:
SHOW option
Additional information available:
CHARACTERISTICSCOUNTERSPORTSSERVERS
CHARACTERISTICS
Use this command to display the following information for your LAT
service node:
o The node characteristics in effect for your service node
o LAT protocol status
o LAT protocol version
o Service characteristics defined for your service node
o Ethernet link characteristics
Format:
SHOW CHARACTERISTICS
COUNTERS
Displays counter information for your LAT service node, for all
servers known to your service node, and for the Ethernet controller
device on your service node.
Format:
SHOW COUNTERS
Additional information available:
/DEVICE
/DEVICE Displays the Ethernet device counters. This information is the sum of all Ethernet counters, including LAT and DECnet, for the Ethernet link that your node uses. If you have more than one Ethernet controller on your node, use the /LINK qualifier to specify the link name of the controller device for which you want the counters displayed. If no counters type is specified, the default is /NODE. For additional information on device counters, see Network Control Program (NCP) in the VAX/VMS documentation.
Additional information available:
/LINK
/LINK=link-name Specifies the name of the link for which you want the Ethernet device counters displayed. Use this qualifier with the /DEVICE qualifier to specify the particular link. Use the SHOW CHARACTERISTICS command for a list of the links defined for your node. The default link is the first one defined for your service node.
/NODE
/NODE Displays the LAT counters for your service node (does not include DECnet counters). If no counters type is specified, the default is /NODE.
/SERVERS
/SERVERS Displays LAT counters for all servers currently connected to your service node. If you want cumulative counters for all known servers, use the /INACTIVE qualifier with this /SERVICE qualifier. If no counters type is specified, the default is /NODE.
Additional information available:
/INACTIVE
/INACTIVE Displays cumulative LAT counters for the servers known to your service node. To obtain this display, you must use the /SERVERS and the /INACTIVE qualifiers. Use the /SERVERS qualifier for a display of the current counters for the servers connected to your service node.
PORTS
Displays the characteristics for the applications, dedicated, or
interactive ports on your service node.
Format:
SHOW PORTS [port-name]
Additional information available:
/APPLICATION/DEDICATED/INTERACTIVE
Parameters
port-name Specifies the name of the port for which you want information displayed. When you issue the SHOW PORTS command without entering a port name, characteristics for all of the LTAn: ports on your service node are displayed. Do not use the /APPLICATION, /DEDICATED, or /INTERACTIVE qualifiers with a specific port name.
/APPLICATION
/APPLICATION Displays information about all of the applications ports on your service node. If an applications port is in use, the actual remote node name and actual remote port name are displayed in addition to the names specified with the SET command.
/DEDICATED
/DEDICATED Displays information about all of the dedicated ports on your service node. The display lists the service name that you specified with SET PORT. If the port is active, the name of the remote node and remote port and the link that the port is using are also displayed.
/INTERACTIVE
/INTERACTIVE Displays information about all of the interactive ports on your service node. If the port has an active session, the server sends the server node name and port name to your service node to be displayed.
SERVERS
Displays (1)the following information about terminal servers known to
your service node:
o Ethernet address
o Server status
o Number of active users
and (2)the Ethernet link(s) that the servers use to access your
service node.
Format:
SHOW SERVERS
Additional information available:
/INACTIVE
/INACTIVE Displays cumulative counters for the servers known to your service node. Use the SHOW COUNTERS/SERVERS command for a display of the current counters for the servers known to your service node.
