The original command interface is maintained solely to provide
compatibility with earlier versions of VAX/VMS. There is a new
extended command interface for INSTALL which is executed by
defining INSTALL as a foreign command. To use the new command
interface in INSTALL, issue the INSTALL command at the DCL
prompt. For example,

        $ INSTALL [install-subcommand]

Alternatively, you can create a DCL symbol for INSTALL as follows:

        INSTALL :== $SYS$SYSTEM:INSTALL/COMMAND_MODE

Then execute the new INSTALL by typing

        INSTALL
