EVE SET_RIGHT_MARGIN — VMS 5.1-B

 SET RIGHT MARGIN

Sets the right margin of the current buffer. This does not change
existing text, but only affects new text or text you reformat with CENTER
 LINE or FILL commands.

 Example:

The following command sets the right margin to 70. When you press
RETURN or use FILL commands, or when EVE wraps text automatically, no
characters will go beyond column 70.

       SET RIGHT MARGIN 70

o The right margin must be greater than the left margin. The default
right margin is one column less than the width. Thus, if the width is
80 columns, the default right margin is 79. To find out the current
margins of the buffer, use the SHOW command or with the WPS keypad,
press the WPS Ruler key (GOLD-R).

o At startup, SET RIGHT MARGIN in an initialization file applies to a
system buffer named $DEFAULTS$, so that each buffer you create has the
same right margin. See help on Defaults.

o The SET WIDTH command makes the right margin of the $DEFAULTS$ buffer
one column less than the width you specify, but does not affect the
margins of other, existing buffers. See help on SET WIDTH.
