EVE SET_LEFT_MARGIN — VMS 5.1-B

 SET LEFT MARGIN

Sets the left margin of the current buffer. This does not change existing
text, but only affects new text or text you reformat with CENTER LINE or
 FILL commands.

 Example:

The following command sets the left margin to 5. When you press RETURN
or use FILL commands, or when EVE wraps text automatically, lines start
    in column 5.

       SET LEFT MARGIN 5

o The left margin must be less than the right margin. The default left
margin is 1 (leftmost column). To find out the current margins of the
buffer, use the SHOW command or with the WPS keypad, press the WPS
    Ruler key (GOLD-R).

o At startup, SET LEFT MARGIN in an initialization file applies to a
system buffer named $DEFAULTS$, so that each buffer you create has the
same left margin. See help on Defaults.

o If you use a negative paragraph indent, the sum of the left margin and
paragraph indent must be at least 1. For example, if the left margin
is 5, the paragraph indent cannot be less than -4. See help on the SET
    PARAGRAPH INDENT command.
