NAME

cat − phototypesetter interface

DESCRIPTION

The CAT driver provides the interface to a Graphic Systems C/A/T phototypesetter, via DR11-C general device interface.  Bytes written on the file specify font, size, and other control information as well as the characters to be flashed.  The coding will not be described here. 

Only one process may have this file open at a time.  It is write-only.

RESTRICTIONS

The C/A/T interface is only partially supported by ULTRIX-11.  Data written to the /dev/cat file will be presented at the output cable of the DR11-C.
