gss_str_to_oid − Construct OID from string.

Kerberos 5 error code.

oid_strOctet string. 

oidOBJECT IDENTIFIER. 

DESCRIPTION

The function gss_str_to_oid() constructs and returns an OID from its printable form. 

The OID is suitable for release using the function gss_release_oid(). 

If the input oid_str cannot be translated into an OID, GSS_S_FAILURE status is returned and the oid result is NULL.

PORTABILITY CONSIDERATIONS

Implementations should be able to accept the numeric ASN.1 syntax form as described for gss_oid_to_str(), and this form should be used for portability, but implementations of this routine may also accept other formats (e.g., “1.2.3.3”).
