NAME
Xie_intro − introduction to Xie library routines
DESCRIPTION
These routines constitute the Xie library, libXie. XIE is an extension to the X Window System which lets your application perform image formatting and display operations using the resources of the X server. Your application can transport images from an XIE client application to the server and from the server to a client application, manipulate images, and import images from and export images to an X11 window or pixmap. XIE also allows data to be transported in compressed form.
Declarations for these functions may be obtained from the include files <X11/extensions/Xielib.h>,<X11/extensions/XieAppl.h>, <X11/extensions/XieUdpDef.h>, <X11/extensions/XieProto.h>.
X Window System Compatibility
XIE has been proposed as a standard extension to the X Window System. It is expected that the program interface will change as a result of the standardization process. Future versions of XIE will reflect any necessary changes to maintain compatibility with the X Window System standard.
