NAME

volrootmir − Mirror areas necessary for booting to a new disk

SYNOPSIS

/usr/sbin/volrootmir physical_disk_name

DESCRIPTION

The volrootmir script causes a mirror copy of areas of the root disk involved in booting to be made on the specified disk. The disk you specify should be at least as large as the sum of the sizes of rootvol and swapvol. Also, the physical disk should not have any disk partition in use.

Mirrors of the root and swap volumes will be added and allocated on the new disk.

All disk regions required for booting will be set up and partitions for the new volume mirrors will be created.

This script is called from the voldiskadm menus through the choice of the mirror volumes on a disk operation.
