The Connect application is for serial communications sessions. This can be over a direct serial connection, perhaps debugging your application using the serial debug output, or it can be over a modem, perhaps to a remote telnet server, or to a bulletin board service (BBS).

Using the Connect application before attempting to connect via PPP can cause a conflict for the modem's serial port. If you see an error message related to the serial port being busy or in use, reboot your system and try again.
