Connecting to the Internet, Part II
The BeOS Virtual TourConnecting to the Internet, Part II
Once you set up networking (whether it be PPP dialup or a network connection to a T1), you have the option to enable FTP and TELNET servers. Instantly you can access your machine or grab files from anywhere in the world. With PoorMan, an included Web Server, you can serve web pages to the world directly from your machine. Just point it to a directory and start it up. If you make changes to your network configuration, or switch between a PPP and Ethernet setup, simply restart networking by clicking "Restart Networking"- no need to reboot! Third party FTP clients, TELNET clients, Web servers and other network tools are available in BeWare.
