Bug Fixes and Improvements
- Terminal does the right thing when you paste a wrapped line.
- kill now correctly sends a SIGTERM rather than a SIGHUP.
- mimeset -F will forcibly reset an application's meta mime entry.
-
Various fixes to Poorman, including
- No more crash on exit.
- "Send Directory List if no Index" now works.
- No longer thinks it can create a folder on a read-only volume.
-
Software Valet and Package Builder changes:
- Package file format versioning has been cleaned up. Because of this, the packages that this version of PackageBuilder creates are not compatible with older versions of SoftwareValet.
-
Three new replacement modes:
- ask if newer version
- ask if newer creation date
- ask if newer modification date
- The apps would sometimes crash when the setup window was closed. This has been fixed.
New Applications and Preferences
For descriptions of the new or improved user-level BeOS applications and preferences see User Release Notes.
dumpmpct
| The new dumpmpct program displays the contents of the multiprocessor configuration (MPC) table (it works on SP machines, too). This program isn't for everybody -- if you know what an MPC table is, then you'll understand what's going on here. |
listdev
| listdev is a new command-line program that lists devices as reported by the configuration manager. |
