NAME
       messages - quick count of messages in mailbox or folder

SYNOPSIS
       messages
       messages folder-name

DESCRIPTION
       Messages  counts the occurrences of "^From " in either the
       current incoming mailbox or the specified folder.

       This is, in fact, a simple little shell script!!
