NAME ae - 3Com 10 Mb/s Ethernet interface DESCRIPTION The ae interface provides host access to an industry standard 10 Mb/s Ethernet. The host's Internet address is specified at boot time with an SIOCSIFADDR ioctl. The host's Ethernet address is read from ROM on the Ethernet board using etheraddr(1M). The ae interface employs the address resolution protocol described in arp(5P) to dynamically map between Internet and Ethernet addresses on the local network. STATUS MESSAGES AND VALUES ae%d: init failed The NIC chip on the Ethernet board would not initalize. ae%d transmitter frozen - resetting A packet transmission failed to complete within a predetermined timeout period. ae%d spurious interrupt An interrupt was received but no operation was active. ae%d: can't handle af%d The interface was handed a message with addresses formatted in an unsuitable address family; the packet was dropped.
