NAME HOSTNAME - host name and domain name database DESCRIPTION HOSTNAME resides in the /etc directory and consists of one line containing the following items of information hostname domainname Items are separated by any number of blanks and/or tabs. There must be no white space at the beginning of the line. hostname is the name of the local host machine and domainname is the name of the Yellow Pages domain on which the local host resides.
