hostid(1N) hostid(1N)
NAME hostid - sets or displays the identifier of the current host system SYNOPSIS hostid [identifier] ARGUMENTS identifier Specifies the identifier to be displayed. DESCRIPTION hostid displays the identifier of the current host in hexadecimal. This numeric value is expected to be unique across all hosts and is normally set to the host's Internet address (for Ethernet or TCP/IP).
