NAME nfsd, biod - invoke the NFS daemons SYNOPSIS nfsd [nserver]... biod [nserver]... ARGUMENTS nserver Specifies the number of file-system request daemons to start. This number should be based on the load expected on this server; 4 is a good number. If the nserver argument is not specified, it defaults to 1. DESCRIPTION nfsd starts the NFS server daemons that handle client file- system requests. biod starts the number asynchronous block I/O daemons specified by nserver. This command is used on an NFS client to handle read-ahead and write-behind of buffer cached blocks.
