ncheck(1M) ncheck(1M)
NAME ncheck - locates the filename associated with an i-number SYNOPSIS ncheck [-a] [-i i-node-numbers] [-s] [-Tfile-system-type] [file-system] ARGUMENTS -a Allows printing of the names . and .., which are ordinarily suppressed. file-system Specifies the file system from which a report is made. -i i-node-numbers Reduces the report to only those files whose i-numbers are specified. Replace i-node-numbers with the file from which a report is to be made. -s Reduces the report to special files and files with set-user-ID mode; it is intended to discover concealed violations of security policy. -Tfile-system-type Specifies the file-system type, for example, 4.2 or 5.2. If this option is not present, ncheck attempts to determine the file-system type. DESCRIPTION ncheck, with no argument, generates the pathname and i- number of all files on a set of default file systems. Names of directories are followed by /.. EXAMPLES The command: ncheck /dev/rdsk/c0d0s0 reports the pathname and i-number of files on the specified device. STATUS MESSAGES AND VALUES When the file-system structure is improper, ?? denotes the ``parent'' of a parentless file, and a pathname beginning with ... denotes a loop. LIMITATIONS The report is in no useful order and probably should be sorted. January 1992 1
