fstyp(1) fstyp(1)NAME fstyp - reports the file-system type SYNOPSIS fstyp file ARGUMENTS file Specifies the file residing on the file system that will be reported. DESCRIPTION fstyp reports the type of the file system on which file resides. If file is a device file, fstyp attempts to read a file-system superblock from the device. The file system must be one of the supported types listed in fstypes. STATUS MESSAGES AND VALUES If successful, fstyp prints to the standard output a message that indicates the file system type.
