enable(1) enable(1)NAME enable, disable - enable or disable LP printers SYNOPSIS enable printers disable [-c] [-r[reason]] printers ARGUMENTS -c Cancels any requests that are currently printing on any of the designated printers. printers Specifies the printers to be activated or deactivated. -r[reason] Associates a reason with the deactivation of the printers. This reason applies to all printers mentioned up to the next -r option. If the -r option is not present or the -r option is given without a reason, then a default reason will be used. reason is reported by lpstat. DESCRIPTION enable activates the named printers, enabling them to print requests taken by lp(1). Use lpstat(1) to find the status of printers. disable deactivates the named printers, disabling them from printing requests taken by lp(1). By default, any requests that are currently printing on the designated printers will be reprinted in their entirety either on the same printer or on another member of the same class.
