chsh(1) chsh(1)NAME chsh - changes the default login shell SYNOPSIS chsh name [shell] ARGUMENTS name Specifies the name of the user. shell Specifies the login shell to be changed to. If no shell is specified then the shell reverts to the default login shell /bin/sh. Otherwise only /bin/csh or /bin/ksh can be specified as the shell unless you are the superuser, or the shell named is listed in /etc/shells. DESCRIPTION chsh is a command similar to passwd(1) except that it is used to change the login shell field of the password file rather than the password entry.
