     NAME
          issue - issue identification file

     DESCRIPTION
          The file /etc/issue contains the issue or project  identifi-
          cation  to  be  printed as a login prompt.  This is an ASCII
          file which is read by program getty and then written to  any
          terminal spawned or respawned from the /etc/inittab file.
