NAME nfsd, biod - NFS daemons SYNOPSIS /etc/nfsd [nserver...] /etc/biod [nserver...] DESCRIPTION nfsd starts the NFS server daemons that handle client file system requests. nservers is the number of file system re- quest daemons to start. This number should be based on the load expected on this server; four is a good number. If nservers is not specified it defaults to one. biod starts nservers asynchronous block I/O daemons. This command is used on a NFS client to handle read-ahead and write-behind of buffer cached blocks. A good value for nservers is four; if not specified it defaults to one.
