     NAME
          logname - get login name

     SYNOPSIS
          logname

     DESCRIPTION
          logname returns the contents of the environment variable
          $LOGNAME, which is set when a user logs into the system.

     EXAMPLES
               logname

          displays the $LOGNAME of the user logged into the system on
          the current port.
