STARTVUE(1) BSD STARTVUE(1)

NAME
startvue - start HP VUE environment from the Display Manager

SYNOPSIS
     startvue

DESCRIPTION
startvue invokes the HP VUE environment from a node which is running the
DM window manager. startvue is run after login in a DM UNIX shell
     (/bin/sh, /bin/csh, or /bin/ksh).

startvue is a UNIX shell script, and can be modified by the user to suit
     individual preferences.

In some cases, the user must modify startvue. In the CONFIGURATION
OPTION section of the script, set the value of SIMPLE to true for nodes
with 8MB memory or less. This invokes xctrl as the session manager.

     For DN4000, DN3500, DN4500, DN2500 or DN10000 nodes with more than 8MB of
memory, set the value of SIMPLE to false. This option invokes vsh as the
session manager. Other applications are launched both at startup and as
requested through the pull-down menus. With vsh as the session manager,
the exit option in the 'File' menu changes to logout and is used instead
     of xctrl to log out.

To return to the DM environment from HP VUE, log out and log back in
again, or perform the following steps:

          Kill the xicon process.

          Kill the mwm process.

Turn off xownroot. In a shell window, type "xownroot -off".

Turn on the DM window manager. In the DM command window, type "wmgr
          -on".

FILES
