 DSEE COMMANDS:  FUNCTIONAL SUMMARY

 NOTE:   For  information  about  the library_directory and element_name
    arguments,  type  help  library_directory and help element_name.

    For information about the branch_name, branch_path,  and  wild-
    card_branch_path arguments, type help branch.   For information
    about lines of descent, type help lod.

    Type    help  version_specifier  for  information  about version
    specifiers.

    For information about build unit specifiers, build versions, and
    full_build_names,    type    help   build_unit_specifier,   help
    build_version, and help full_build_name.

    For information about arguments for the task management commands,
    type  help  task_list_specifier  and  help  task_number.    Type
    help monitor_args for information about monitor arguments.

    For the full syntax of each command and a detailed description of
    its function, type help <command_name>, where <command_name>  is
    the name of the command that you'd like to know more about.

 Library Management Commands:
 ****************************


create library library_directory

     Creates a DSEE library.

delete library

     Deletes the current library.

protect library

     Sets or shows the current library's protection attributes.

recover library [-full]

     Brings  the  current library's database and history files into a consistent
     state after a crash or network failure.

recover user [person [.project [.organization [.node]]] ] [-force]

     Cleans up incomplete library operations of the specified user.

reformat library

     Converts a library database to suit new DSEE software.

set library {library_directory | library_id | -none}

     Sets or clears the current library setting.

share [-on | -off]

     Allows other users to access the current library,  or  prevents  them  from
     accessing the current library.

show library [-full]

     Displays information about the current library.

show users

     Displays information about the users accessing the current library.

 Element, Branch Management Commands:
 ************************************


cancel obsolete element_name[/branch_path]

     Activates a line of descent that was previously deactivated.

cancel reserve element_name[/branch_path]

      Cancels a reservation on the specified line of descent.

compare {element_name[version_specifier] | pathname}
        {element_name[version_specifier] | pathname}
        [-width nn] [-serial] [-tiny]

     Displays  the differences between two versions, two files, or a version and
     a file.

create branch branch_name element_name[version_specifier]
              [-from pathname | -into pathname] [-keep]

     Creates an alternate line of descent for an element.

create element element_name [-from pathname] [-keep]

     Creates a new element in the current library.

delete branch element_name/branch_path

     Deletes a branch and its subbranches.

delete element element_name

     Deletes an element and its history from the current library.

delete version element_name[version_specifier]
               [-discard_names] [-discard_branches]

delete version -upto element_name[version_specifier]
               [-discard_names] [-discard_branches]

delete version -range element_name[version_specifier]
                      element_name[version_specifier]
                      [-discard_names] [-discard_branches]

     Deletes one or more versions in a line of descent.

fetch element_name[version_specifier] [-stout | -into pathname[-r]]
      [-annotate [-full]]

     Retrieves a read-only copy of an element or branch version.

merge {pathname_1 | element_name_1[version_specifier]}
      -with {pathname_2 | element_name_2[version_specifier]}
      -fetch -into pathname_3 [-r]
      [-serial] [-width nn] [-tiny] [-qa]

merge element_name[version_specifier] -with target_lod
      -reserve [-into pathname_3] [-r]
      [-serial] [-width nn] [-tiny] [-qa] [-no_text]

     Merges element versions, branch versions, or files.

name version wildcard_version_specifier version_name [-r]

name version wildcard_element_name version_name -discard

name version full_build_name version_name
             [-library library_directory] [-r]

name version full_build_name version_name
             [-library library_directory] -discard

     Assigns a name to a particular version of one or more elements, or  deletes
     a previously assigned version name.

obsolete element_name[/branch_path]

     Declares a line of descent obsolete; prevents the addition of new versions.

read element_name[version_specifier]

     Displays the specified element or branch version in a read-only window.

rename branch element_name/old_branch_path new_branch_name

     Renames a branch.

rename element old_name new_name

     Renames an element.

replace element_name[/branch_path] [-from pathname] [-keep]

     Creates a new version of an element from an edited copy.

reserve element_name[/branch_path] [-into pathname] [-r]

     Reserves  a  line  of  descent  and  creates an editable copy of the latest
     version.

set environment wildcard_version_specifier

set environment wildcard_element_name -from pathname

set environment full_build_name

set environment [wildcard_element_name ] -none

     Sets or clears source reference environment for one or more elements.

show branches [wildcard_branch_name] [-full] [-format control_string]

     Displays the branch leaf names used by one or more elements.

show derivation element_name[/branch_path]

     Graphically shows  an  element's  lines  of  descent,  mergers,  and  named
     versions.

show elements [wildcard_element_name] [-full] [-monitors]
              [{-missing | -having} {"["version_name"]"
              | environment
              | wildcard_branch_path [-active]
              | -merge version_specifier [-with branch_path]}]
              [-format control_string]

     Displays one or more elements.

show environment [wildcard_element_name]

     Displays the current source reference environment for one or more elements.

show history [wildcard_element_name[/branch_path]] [-full]
             [-since date_time_specifier]
             [-like element_name[version_specifier]]
             [-format control_string]

     Shows the event histories of one or more elements.

show names [-format control_string]

show names {version_name | wildcard_version_name} [-format control_string]

     Displays version names.

show reservations [-me] [-format control_string]

     Displays reserved elements in the current library.

show status wildcard_element_name [-most_recent] [-full]
            [-format control_string]

     Shows the status of the specified element(s).

show version wildcard_version_specifier [-format control_string]

show version -from file_pathname

     Displays  the  replace  event(s) that created one or more element versions;
     shows the version stamp of a regular DOMAIN system file.

 Configuration Management Commands:

build [build_unit_specifier]
      [-comment {text | "<" pathname} ]
      [-query | -query_all | -Q | -qa]

     Builds the current system model or a system component.

compare builds full_build_name1 full_build_name2
               [-select build_unit_specifier]
               [-into pathname [-r]]

compare builds [build_unit_specifier] -previous

     Displays the differences between two build maps.

configure pool physical_pool_spec
          (-limit num_build_versions | -age num_hours)

     Configures a physical binary pool.

create environment full_build_name

     Create a new shell in which the source reference environment is set to  the
     element versions used in a previous build.

create pool physical_pool_spec
            [-limit num_build_versions]
            [-age num_hours]
            [-r]

     Creates a physical binary pool.

create system system_directory_pathname

     Creates a system directory and sets it as the current system.

delete build full_build_name

     Deletes an existing build.

delete pool {pool_dir_pathname | directory_pathname}

     Deletes a physical binary pool.

delete system system_directory_pathname [-force]

     Deletes a system directory.

edit thread

edit thread -model

     Edits  the  text  of  the current configuration thread or the current model
     thread.

examine build full_build_name
              [-select build_unit_specifier | -check]
              [-into pathname [-r] ]

     Displays a full build map.

examine thread [-into pathname [-r]]

examine thread -model [-into pathname [-r]]

     Displays the contents of the current configuration thread  or  the  current
     model thread.

export full_build_name
       [-link]
       [-into pathname]
       [-r]
       [-from file_suffix]
       [-select build_unit_specifier]
       [-read]

     Exports the derived objects produced from a particular build.

promote [wildcard_build_unit_specifier]

     Promotes derived objects stored in a reserved pool to a system pool.

purge pool physical_pool_spec [-limit num_build_versions] [-age num_hours]

     Reclaims space in a binary pool by forcing cleanup.

recover pool physical_pool_spec

     Recovers a binary pool.

set builder ( node_spec_list | -reference node_spec | -concurrency n )

set builder -none

     Specifies  one  or  more  build  servers  (nodes  that  will  execute build
     translations), the reference node, and the desired degree of concurrency.

set model model_spec [-force] [-list] [-target kw1 [kw2...]]

     Sets the current system model.

set system system_directory_pathname

set system [system_directory_pathname] -default

set system -none

set system -into pathname

set system [system_directory_pathname] -from pathname

     Sets or clears the current system setting  and  sets  the  current  working
     context.

set thread {-from {pathname | element_version_pathname}
          | -none | -default}

set thread -model {-from {pathname | element_version_pathname}
                  | -default}

     Sets the current configuration thread or current model thread.

show builds  wildcard_build_unit_specifier
            [-since date_time_specifier]
            [-me] [-full]

     Displays  build  map  headers of one or more derived objects in the current
     set of pools.

show builder

     Shows  information  about  build  server  settings  and  translation   rule
     execution.

show model [-full]

     Displays information about the current system model.

show pools

     Displays information about the current system's binary pool(s).

show system [-full]

     Displays the current system setting.

 Release Management Commands:
 ****************************

create release release_directory_pathname
               -from full_build_name
               ( -export build_unit_specifier_list [-bct_only]
               | -snapshot (sources | tools | model) [-files_only] )

     Creates a release area for built system components.

delete release release_directory_pathname [-force] [-nq]

     Deletes a release.

edit release release_directory_pathname
             ( -export build_unit_specifier_list [-bct_only]
             | -snapshot (sources | tools | model) [-files_only] )

     Adds to an existing release.

examine release release_directory_pathname

     Displays information about a release.

recover releases

     Updates release area information.

show releases

     Lists releases of the current system.

 Task and Tasklist Management Commands:
 **************************************


add task task_number
         (-from [task_list_specifier] [-master] | -into task_list_specifier)

add task -into task_list_specifier

     Adds a task reference to a tasklist.

create task [-from pathname] [-into task_list_specifier] [-title text]
            [-set]

     Creates a new task.

create tlist task_list_specifier

     Creates a new tasklist.

delete task [task_number] [-from task_list_specifier [-master]] [-discard]

     Deletes a task from a tasklist, or deletes the task permanently.

delete tlist [task_list_specifier]

     Deletes a nonlibrary tasklist.

edit task [task_number [-from task_list_specifier]]
          [-set] [-who] [-like element_name[version_specifier]]

     Invokes the DSEE task editor for editing a task.

examine task [task_number] [-from [task_list_specifier] [-master]]
             [-into pathname [-r]] [-set] [-who]
             [-like element_name[version_specifier]]

     Displays the current state of a task.

examine tlist [task_list_specifier [-master]]

     Displays the current state of a tasklist.

protect tlist [task_list_specifier]

     Sets or shows protection attributes for a tasklist.

recover tlist [task_list_specifier [-master]]

     Updates the task references on a tasklist.

set task task_number [-from task_list_specifier]

set task -none

     Sets or clears the current task setting.

set tlist {task_list_specifier | -none}

     Sets or clears the current tasklist setting.

show task

     Displays information about the current task.

show tlist

     Displays the name of the current tasklist.

tag task element_name[version_specifier] [-none]

     Tags a version of an element with the current task, or with no task.

watch tlists

     Specifies   tasklists   to   be   watched   by  the  alarm  server  program
     (alarm_server).

 Monitor Commands:
 *****************


create monitor mon_spec_list [-library target_library] [-not_me | -me]

     Creates a monitor and sets it on one or more elements.

delete monitor mon_spec_list [-library target_library]

     Deletes a monitor previously set on one or more elements.

edit monitor mon_spec_list [-library target_library]

     Invokes the DSEE task editor to edit one or more monitor templates.

recover monitor mon_spec_list -library owner_library

     Deletes a monitor held by the current library when  it  cannot  be  deleted
     normally with the delete monitor command.

show monitors { owned | held } [-lib library_directory]

     Displays monitors that are currently set.

 Form Management Commands:
 *************************


create form pathname [-task [task_number -from task_list_specifier [-master]]]

     Creates a form.

delete form form_pathname

     Deletes a form.

edit form form_pathname

     Invokes the DSEE task editor to edit a form.

examine form form_pathname [-into pathname [-r]]

     Displays the current state of a form.

 Miscellaneous Commands:
 ***********************


abtsev [-internal | -error]

     Shows  the  current  abort  severity  or specifies the error level at which
     command file execution terminates.

cd [pathname]

     Set the working directory.

examine variable var_name

     Displays the current value of a variable.

help [command | -on | -off]

-help

     Displays help about a DSEE subject.

prompts {-on | -off}

     Turns on or off prompting for standard input during command file execution.

pwd

     Prints the name of the current working directory.

quit

     Exits from the DSEE environment.

set shell pathname

     Sets the current shell environment.

set variable var_name text

     Defines a variable and assigns it a value.

show shell

     Displays the current shell environment.

shell [shell_command...]

     Enters a shell interactively or  executes  shell  commands  from  the  DSEE
     environment.

-version

     Shows current version of DSEE software.

voff

     Instructs  the  DSEE  facility  to  not  display commands as they are being
     executed.

von

     Instructs the DSEE facility to display commands as they are being executed.

wd [pathname]

     Sets or displays the current working directory.
