RUPTIME(1C)
NAME
ruptime − show host status of local machines
USAGE
ruptime [ −a ] [ −l ] [ −t ] [ −u ]
DESCRIPTION
Ruptime gives a status line for each machine on the local network, providing the current time; the length of time the system has been up; and the average number of jobs in the run queue over the last one, five, and 15 minutes. These status lines are formed from packets broadcast by each host on the network once a minute.
Machines for which no status report has been received for five minutes are shown as being down. Unless the appropriate option(s) are specified, ruptime does not count users who have been idle for an hour or more in the status report, and the report itself is sorted by host name.
OPTIONS
−a Include, in the status report, the names of users idle an hour or more.
−l Sort the status report by load average.
−t Sort the status report by uptime.
−u Sort the status report by number of users.
NOTES TO DOMAIN/IX USERS
For a node to accept incoming talk commands, it must be correctly configured to run DOMAIN/IX TCP/IP. See System Administration for DOMAIN/IX bsd4.2 for information on configuring TCP/IP.
