UPTIME(1)

NAME

uptime − show how long a node has been up

USAGE

uptime

DESCRIPTION

The uptime command prints the current time, and reports on how long your node has been up.

NOTE: In some UNIX system implementations, uptime is linked to a command that tells you who is on the system and what they are doing, and may also report the average number of jobs in the run queue over a fixed period of time.  The DOMAIN/IX implementation of uptime does not support these features.

EXAMPLE

The following demonstrates an execution of uptime, showing the output of the command as well:
    % uptime
    4:30pm  up 17 days, 05:18
    %

The current time is listed as 4:30 PM.  The node has been up for 17 days, 5 hours, and 18 minutes.
