MESG(1)

NAME

mesg − permit or deny messages

USAGE

mesg [ n ] [ y ]

DESCRIPTION

Mesg with argument n revokes non-user write permission on your terminal.  Mesg with argument y reinstates permission.  Mesg without an argument reports your current decision (y or n) regarding the receipt of messages, but does not change it.

Note: This command is a no-op in DOMAIN/IX, thus allowing the Shell script that calls it to run.

DIAGNOSTICS

Exit status is 0 if messages are receivable, 1 if not, 2 on error.
