PRF

5.0a;prsvr (print_server), revision 6.0, 83/08/05
PRSVR (PRINT_SERVER) -- Start the Print Server.
usage: PRSVR [config_file_name] [&]

FORMAT

  PRSVR [config_file_name] [&]

PRSVR executes the print server program, which prints files submitted
to the print queue with PRF (PRINT_FILE). You only need to execute
this command when you start the node connected to the printer. Do not
execute the command at other nodes: this will cause print files to be lost.

ARGUMENTS

  pathname
(optional) Specify printer configuration file (see HELP PRSVR CONFIG).
Default if omitted: use file PRINTER_CONFIG.DATA

  &
(optional) Create separate Shell process in which to run the
print server. This process is created without the normal
pads or windows, thus running invisibly in the background.
To stop this background process, use the SIGP
(SIGNAL_PROCESS) command. The name of the print server
                   process is PRINT_SERVER.printername.

DEVICES SUPPORTED

The print server supports four printer types:

      1) NEC Spinwriter 7715, connected via an SIO line
      2) Printronix 300/600 LPM printer, connected to the PBU
      3) Versatec V-80 printer-plotter, connected to the PBU via an
         IKON 10071-5.
      4) GE series 3000 printer, connected via an SIO line

The printer that is used depends on which device has been specified with
the DEVICE directive in the configuration file. The default is the Spinwriter.
